Important Location Update for Stockyards Boxing Gym

Stockyards Boxing & Fitness is permanently located at the George Bell Arena, near St. Clair and Runnymede in Toronto’s Junction. While renovations are underway, we are temporarily training at 4231 Dundas Street West in Etobicoke. We plan to return to George Bell Arena once renovations are finished in September 2026, maintaining the same coaches, classes, and community. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Boxing Classes in Toronto for All Skill Levels

Our West Toronto boxing gym offers group classes for adults and youth of all skill levels, from beginners to athletes. Each session blends conditioning, boxing techniques, and drills.

It’s a workout that pushes you physically and mentally in equal measure. Our programs include Boxing Basics, Technical Boxing, Youth Boxing, and Personal Training. Members can also train alone at their own pace during Open Gym.

If you spend most of your training time in the weight room, boxing is the perfect addition to your workout routine, adding cardio, coordination, and conditioning that lifting alone can’t build. Small classes allow coaches to give personalized attention on technique, form, and safety.

Boxing Basics (Beginner Boxing Classes)

Boxing Basics teaches the fundamentals of stance, footwork, defensive movement, and punching while building coordination, conditioning, and cardio.

Students train with bags, pads, gloves, and professional gear with hands-on coaching. Ideal for beginners who want to learn the art of boxing properly from day one.

Open Boxing Gym

Our open gym offers members flexible hours to train in a fully equipped space, which includes a professional boxing ring and heavy bags.

Members can independently work on drills, strength, conditioning, or extra practice at their own pace outside of scheduled classes. This setup is perfect for experienced athletes, competitive fighters, and those in fight preparation for upcoming tournaments who need additional time in the gym.

Technical Boxing

Technical Boxing classes focus on advanced combinations, defensive strategy, timing, precise footwork, and controlled sparring.

Designed for intermediate and competitive boxers, these sessions prepare fighters for amateur and professional bouts. Training is rigorous, detail-oriented, and performance-driven, with coaching from fighters who have competed at the national level. If you’re an amateur boxer looking to push your boxing performance to the next level, this is the class for you.

Youth Boxing

Youth Boxing for ages 9 to 16 builds confidence, coordination, discipline, and respect in a structured, coach-led environment. Children learn essential skills like stance, footwork, defence, and punching, then progress to conditioning and sparring as they get comfortable.

Small classes ensure personalized attention in a safe, supportive environment where teamwork matters as much as technique. Kids improve fitness and focus, make friends, and parents say it benefits them outside the gym.

Personal Boxing Training

Private boxing lessons at Stockyards offer personalized, one-on-one training with a nationally certified coach, tailored to your specific goals. Whether you’re aiming to improve technique, increase fitness, or prepare for competition, each session is focused entirely on your needs, with expert guidance and the right level of challenge at every step.

What Our Members Say

Real results, real community, and a space where hard work and support go hand in hand. Here’s what training at Stockyards is like.

★★★★★

“One of if not the best boxing clubs in Toronto. Coach Richard will get you in fight shape in no time. Come here if you’re serious about boxing.”

Neil
★★★★★

“Richard’s boxing achievements are well documented, but what may not be as well-known is his kindness, encouraging manner, clear instruction and professionalism. The pricing is beyond reasonable by today’s standards, and the level of care and attention is second to none. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.”

Marco
★★★★★

“I had such a great time and I’ve never sweat more in my entire life. Great coaches, great vibes. I’m a newbie and they were very nice to me and made me feel welcome.”

Sara
★★★★★

“Fantastically skilled, personable, and fun trainers, amazing facility. You get a vibe of simultaneously serious and fun from when you walk in. I love this place.”

Justin
★★★★★

“My favourite thing about Stockyards is it’s missing that common boxing gym attitude where you walk in and nobody wants to help you or take an interest in your development. Great culture and high level trainers.”

Dave
★★★★★

“Gym atmosphere is easy going and very welcoming! Trainers are well educated, funny and are always mixing things up to keep it interesting. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, Stockyards is definitely a place to check out and grow within.”

Why Join Stockyards Boxing?

Toronto has a diverse landscape of respected boxing hubs, each catering to different neighbourhoods and goals. Here’s why West Toronto trains at Stockyards:

  • Regular training builds self-discipline and fosters a real sense of accomplishment as you progress through the levels.
  • Beginner classes heavily prioritize fundamental form to prevent joint and wrist injuries, so you build good habits from your first session.
  • We focus on authentic form, precise footwork, and controlled partner drills for genuine skill development, not just a boxing-themed workout.
  • Heavy bag work and focused training sharpen your focus and provide a productive outlet for stress.
  • No contact required: calorie-burning interval training, bag work, and pad work deliver the full workout, and nobody is pushed into sparring before they’re ready.
  • High-intensity rounds and interval-style training support fat loss and overall fitness. A single one-hour boxing session can burn between 600 to 800 calories.
  • Learning progressively more advanced skills builds confidence and discipline that carry over outside the gym.
  • Train under certified coaches with legitimate competitive backgrounds, led by a founder who ranked #1 with the Canadian Professional Boxing Federation. Competitive members hold official Boxing Ontario licences.
  • Whether your goal is cardio fitness or mastering technical skill, there’s a program that matches it, from Boxing Basics to Technical Boxing to one-on-one personal training.
  • Youth Boxing (ages 9 to 16) focuses on teamwork, confidence, and fun in a safe, structured setting, and boxing communities like ours help keep kids on track.
  • Members describe the community as feeling like family: coaches who actually coach and members who show up for each other.
  • Memberships stay affordable: $20 drop-in or just $10 per class with a membership, among the most reasonable rates in Toronto.
